    Title:Medical Assistant

    Location:Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center – Aurora, CO

    Job Summary:

    Vighter is seeking Medical Assistants to join our dynamic healthcare team and make a significant impact on the well-being of the veteran community served by the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate professionals to provide exceptional patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a collaborative team, dedicated to advancing patient health.

    Reports to:

  • Project Manager

    Principle Accountabilities:

  • Takes and records blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, height, and weight.

  • Annotates patient chart with vital signs, pertinent history, and level of pain.

  • Alerts provider of any acute issues stated by patient.

  • Obtains routine specimen for laboratory analysis and perform standard tests. Ensures proper identification of specimens and delivers them to laboratory, always ensuring proper PPE requirements are met.

  • Assist physicians and/or nursing staff as appropriate during patient examinations and treatments.

  • Acts as chaperon when needed or requested by provider.

  • Apply/remove bandages, binders, simple dressings, and hot and cold packs.

  • Performs electrocardiographs and notifies Physician of results.

  • Assist Physicians and/or Nursing staff as appropriate during patient examinations and treatments.

  • Assists patients with proper use of oxygen equipment, ensuring proper fit for mask or canula.

  • Accompany patients in wheelchairs, on stretcher, or ambulatory within hospital as required.

  • Must have:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • An independent work initiative, sound judgement, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to organize workload and use effective time management.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity, race, gender, and other individual differences in the workplace.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support/BLS (AHA or ARC).

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

  • United States Citizenship.

    Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in the last 36 months.
