Job Overview

The Clinical Education Specialist job description is in alignment with the Association of Nurses in Professional Development (ANPD). ANPD is the practice and thought leader for nursing professional development and the specialty practice organization upon which education specialists base their professional activities. ANPD has identified six core standards of practice on which this job description was heavily influenced: competency management, education, role development, orientation/onboarding, research/EBP/QI, and collaborative partnerships. The person in this role will support the Perioperative educational needs of staff at both the South Campus and Anschutz Campus locations. At our Center for Children's Surgery, we treat the big things, the little things and everything in between. Our surgeons are world-renowned pioneers in the treatment of children and adolescents for any level of injury or illness. Our provides services in a range of locations that were built and designed to be the most healing environment for kids. We combine advanced technology, innovative research, the latest minimally invasive techniques and expert care to be consistently ranked among the top pediatric hospitals in the country. With the most advanced procedures for the youngest of patients, our surgery locations are destinations for surgery that is less invasive, with shorter recovery times and better outcomes. We deliver some of the best outcomes in the nation and the world, which we share with parents to help them make informed decisions about their child's car As a Clinical Education Specialist at our beautiful South Campus nestled near the foothills in Highlands Ranch, CO, you will support the educational needs of team members working in Pre-Op/PACU as well as in the Operating Room. You will be an integral part of the team ensuring that essential skills are kept up-to-date, helping to support onboarding and orientation needs, leading initiatives around role development, and more! The South Campus Perioperative Services team performs appro imately 3500 surgeries per year within these specialties ENT, Urology, Ortho, Plastics, and General Surgery. Are you ready to join our team and help lead them into the future of The Operating Room at Anschutz campus is a 14 OR unit that treats children and adolescents for any level of injury or illness. The unit supports 24 different surgical specialties and performs more than 23,000 cases a year. We are a unique, yet impressive team comprised of bachelor's prepared nurses, certified surgical technicians, anesthesia technicians, anesthesia providers, and surgeons. The staff in the OR are proud to provide safe quality of care to our patients. We perform a wide variety of surgical procedures including abdominal and thoracic surgery, bariatric surgery, cleft, craniofacial, and plastic reconstructive surgery, colorectal surgery, cardiac surgery, ENT surgery, fetal surgery, burn treatment, trauma surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology surgery, gynecologic procedures, transplant surgery, and urology surgery. Our OR nurses and surgical technologists receive extensive training and education in all surgical specialties promoting communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. We promote continued education and encourage staff to pursue specialty certifications.
