Robert Half Staff Accountant in Augusta, Maine
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Augusta, Maine. This role involves managing daily General Ledger activities, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Responsibilities:
• Post and balance daily General Ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Perform reconciliations of credit union accounts and address any discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborate with other departments to settle daily financial transaction activity.
• Process and manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions efficiently.
• Prepare and post journal entries for accurate financial reporting.
• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow management.
• Support the month-end close process by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with established accounting procedures. Requirements • Proven experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger operations and journal entry processes.
• Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
• Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and GAAP standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with numerical data.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-departmental coordination.
