Humana Organization Effectiveness Lead- Onboarding in Augusta, Maine

We are seeking a strategic, results-driven and innovative leader to drive our New Leader Onboarding or Leadership Development, Top Talent, and Career Path programs. This new leader onboarding role is responsible for designing and facilitating enterprise-wide leadership development initiatives, accelerating top talent growth, and building scalable career path frameworks that align with our sales performance and organizational goals. This role is key to accelerating the development of high-potential talent and frontline leaders who are critical to customer satisfaction, growth, and retention. Ideal candidates will bring strong program design, facilitation, and stakeholder management experience, with a proven ability to tailor leadership development to fast-paced, customer-facing environments. A passion for innovation—including the use of AI technologies to personalize and scale learning—is essential.

The leadership development role will focus on designing, facilitating, and continuously improving scalable, high-impact onboarding experiences that accelerate the success of newly promoted or hired leaders in our fast-paced, sales-driven environment. This individual will partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure onboarding programs are aligned with organizational goals and leadership expectations. This role requires a forward-thinking professional who blends strong instructional design and facilitation expertise with project management, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of leadership development. The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative decision-maker who is passionate about empowering new leaders—and eager to innovate using AI and emerging technologies to elevate learning outcomes. Additionally, this person should have familiarity with frontline sales and service metrics(ie NPS, AHT, conversion, churn) and how leadership behaviors impact performance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and DeliverPrograms: Create scalable, inclusive, and engaging learning programs tailored to new people managers, aligning with organizational leadership competencies and business goals.Create leadership development and top talent experiences across multiple business units that build people leadership, emotional intelligence, and strategic thinking for sales and service roles—from team leads to emerging leaders.

  • Instructional Design: Apply adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and digital learning strategies to develop blended learning solutions (virtual, in-person, and self-paced).

  • Facilitation: Deliver high-impact workshops, leadership labs, and coaching sessions that foster growth, confidence, and capability in first-time managers. Lead engaging workshops and leadership cohorts that emphasize real-world application in customer-centric environments, including conflict resolution, coaching to KPIs, and influencing without authority.

  • AI & Innovation: Integrate AI-driven tools and technologies to personalize learning pathways,enable smarter learning,optimize content delivery, and measure program effectiveness.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner cross-functionally with HRBPs, business leaders, DEI, and subject matter experts to ensure learning solutions are relevant, inclusive, aligned with real-world challenges, KPIs, and business goals

  • Strategic Thinking: Anticipate future new leader capability needs and recommend strategic learning interventions to build a strong leadership bench.Contribute to the development of a leadership pipeline strategy aligned to business growth, workforce planning, and evolving customer expectations.

  • Program Management: Drive program execution from end to end—including timelines, budgets, communications, evaluations, and continuous improvement using data and learner feedback.

  • Top Talent Acceleration: Identify and support rising stars with targeted development paths, stretch opportunities, peer networks, and mentorship experiences that fuel retention and readiness. Implement high-potential and top talent initiatives including cohort-based learning, mentoring, stretch assignments, and succession planning.

  • Build a scalable, engaging career path framework for key roles that fosters mobility, clarity, and retention within the sales organization.

  • Partner with HR, Sales, DEI, and other functions to ensure development experiences are equitable, inclusive, and aligned with broader talent strategies.

  • Collaborate with Sales, HR, andotherLearning & Developmentteamsto identify onboarding needs and role expectations for new leaders.

  • Develop onboarding roadmaps, toolkits, and resources that build leadership capability and drive early engagement and performance.

  • Establish clear success metrics and measure onboarding effectiveness through feedback, performance outcomes, and continuous improvement loops.

  • Ensure onboarding programs are inclusive and tailored to diverse leader backgrounds and business contexts.

  • Build stakeholder relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on effective leader transitions and readiness.

  • Evaluate program effectiveness using success metrics, feedback loops, and business outcomes.

  • Act as a strategic advisor and thought partner to senior leaders on talent development approaches.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Business, Organizational Development, or related field.

  • 6+ years of experience in Learning & Development or Talent Management, with a focus on onboarding or leadership programs, especially for first-time people leaders , leadership development, talent management, or organizational developmentwith customer-facing roles

  • 2+ years of experience leading a team of learning professionals

  • Proven experience in both designing and facilitating leadership and onboarding programs.

  • Experience supporting onboarding for sales organizations or call centers is highly desirable

  • Experience leveraging AI tools in learning design or delivery preferred(ie. adaptive learning platforms, chatbots, content curation tools, etc)

  • Stronglearning facilitation,instructional design and adult learning principles knowledge.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with learning technologies, onboarding platforms, and evaluation tools.

  • Certifications incoaching,leadership tools or assessments (e.g., Hogan, Korn Ferry, MBTI, DiSC) are a plus.

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences

  • Demonstrated project management capabilities and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Experience leveraging AI tools in learning design or delivery preferred (e.g., adaptive learning platforms, chatbots, content curation tools)

  • Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills; comfortable working across all levels of the organization

  • Strategic mindset with a passion for innovation and experimentation

  • Demonstrated success designing and facilitating leadership, top talent, or career development programs.

  • Expertise in career pathing, succession planning, and leadership capability development.

  • Strongchange andproject management, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Strong instructional design and facilitation skills tailored to fast-paced, performance-driven environments

  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across functions

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$104,000 - $143,000 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
