The Learning Design Professional 2 uses instructional design, cognitive psychology and adult learning theory to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap. The Learning Design Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
The Learning Design Professional 2 typical responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Analyzes content, organizes content, designs solutions, and writes storyboards, scripts, performance support, mobile learning and manuals.
Analyzes learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content.
Writes effective learning objectives and coordinates performance assessments to measure training effectiveness.
Ensures course materials are current and relevant to training needs.
Tracks and analyzes the training programs effectiveness by examining learner's satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement.
Provides instruction and guidance to Facilitators.
Knows how to use social media and collaborative tools to facilitate learning.
Plans, organizes, and develops training curriculum, materials, job performance aids and programs to meet specific training needs.
Uses consultative skills to commit projects and conduct needs analysis with clients to determine whether learning solutions are necessary or relevant.
Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Communications, or Business
3–5 years of demonstrable experience in technical learning roles, with a focus on instructional design, learning systems, or adult learning implementation
Proven track record of leading the learning function—or a closely related function—within a consumer-centric organization, with measurable outcomes tied to customer or user experience
Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, including building and maintaining a dynamic team culture that fosters engagement, accountability, and continuous development
Progressive experience using business and financial analytics to inform learning strategies, including the application of adult learning theories to drive performance and engagement
Strong passion for enhancing the consumer experience, with clear evidence of contributing to learning programs that improve service delivery, satisfaction, or engagement metrics
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in one of the following areas: Business Administration; Learning and Performance; Education; Human Resources, Organizational Design or Related field.
Work experience in a health care and / or Insurance setting
Health Insurance license (or able to obtain one within the first 90 days in the role)
Additional Information
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$59,300 - $80,900 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
