Meta Area Quality Manager in Augusta, Maine

Summary:

Meta is seeking an experienced Area Quality Manager to join our Data Center Engineering & Construction (DEC) Quality team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly growing infrastructure efficiently operates, and our innovative services are delivered. This role is responsible for the management of the Meta Quality Program within a designated geographical area of North America. This includes oversight and support of Regional Quality Managers as they drive Quality Program best practices at the site level. The program is focused on people, processes and accountability through effective feedback related to contractor coordination, performance, and execution of construction inspections, testing services and commissioning. Through dedicated leadership and partnerships, the Area Quality Manager will utilize our program core competencies to drive day one readiness and remove roadblock within their geographical area project portfolio ensuring predictable on-time delivery.

Required Skills:

Area Quality Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a team of Regional Quality Managers to execute the program vision, strategy and processes resulting in repeatable metric driven results at scale.

  2. Educate and enforce Quality program standards and serve as the primary point of escalation for Regional Quality Managers while having ultimate accountability for Area performance.

  3. Partner with Matrix Organizational Peers to represent the Area risks, status and needs. Interface at the area level between design, construction, and facility operations leadership as well as the general contractor to ensure embedment of Quality program vision and strategy.

  4. Establish and foster a high performing team focused on healthy communications and a tenacity towards scope management

  5. Partner effectively with peer managers while mentoring and developing the individual contributor members of the DEC Quality Team.

  6. Provide direction with business context and embed program changes within the Area DEC Quality matrixed team and associated external partner

  7. Act as “Surge Team” and provide remote/on-site coverage when a Regional Quality Manager is out of pocket.

  8. Collaborate with the Quality Operations team & Fusion Team on programmatic quality issues, improvements, and innovations between DEC & Infra’s design, construction, sourcing, and facility operations teams.

  9. Establish and maintain relationships with all third-party consultants, contractors, and equipment vendors to ensure alignment with program intent, goals, and requirements

  10. Monitor quality program metrics to evaluate the performance of the area portfolio and individual campuses/projects while establishing incremental site-based goals with the project team to address disconcerting trends.

  11. Provide training of personnel to ensure awareness of quality procedures and specific responsibilities in the Quality process.

  12. Help drive the closure of open issues and escalate any outstanding open items not getting closed out in a timely manner.

  13. Attend required program and project cadence meetings.

  14. Travel domestically as needed (anticipated 40-60%).

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years experience in quality control & quality assurance (QA/QC) and/or Commissioning (Cx) programs for data centers or mission critical construction projects.

  2. BS in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent work experience.

  3. Experience with Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build construction programs.

  4. Experience in civil/structural, building envelope, mechanical, electrical, and Instrumentation and Control disciplines.

  5. Experience leading QA/QC and Cx programs.

  6. Experience in personnel management, staffing, and scheduling.

  7. Experience in contractor, consultant, and vendor management.

  8. Experience in mission critical power and cooling infrastructure or other critical systems

  9. Experience adapting to a dynamic, hands-on, start-up work environment.

  1. Work closely with a broad range of stakeholders with various skillsets and level of authority.

  2. Experience delivering large scale ($500M+), mission critical construction projects.

  3. Experience utilizing Autodesk BIM360 Field and/or ACC Build software.

  4. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Equivalent Certifications.

Public Compensation:

$144,000/year to $201,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
