KIK Consumer Products Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift in Auburndale, Florida

Your Role at KIK

Join our team as a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician (Monday – Friday with OT with rotating Saturdays 9:00 pm – 5:30 am) team, however, the candidate must be able to work on 1 st shift (Monday – Friday with rotating Saturdays 4:30 am – 3:00 pm) for the first 90 days not extended longer than 6 months of employment for training purposes. In this role you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of machinery and equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing and monitoring equipment, conducting repairs and replacements. You’ll be a key contributor to the success of our plant. This position has an hourly rate starting at $30.00 per hour plus a .50 shift differential for hours worked after 1 st shift, in addition to a quarterly incentive bonus. The compensation is negotiable based upon a candidate’s experience and skill set.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Independently identify and repair equipment issues within assigned area with minimal supervision

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • Experience with troubleshooting bottling, filling equipment and gantry palletizers

  • Diagnose mechanical problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving

  • Promptly respond to equipment related issues with customer-oriented manner

  • Perform general electrical repairs including wire connections, relays, photo-eyes, solenoids, working with 120v-480v, diagnose and wire up motors and troubleshoot variable speed drives. Must be able to properly use multimeter and read schematics

  • Perform preventative maintenance, and safety inspections

  • Modify, repair, install and troubleshoot various conveyor systems including but not limited to roller, belt, intralox, gravity, chain plate types

  • Diagnose, rebuild, troubleshoot and replace various pump types

  • Experience with using CMMS and documenting emergency and planned work and good communication skills

  • Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment and facilities in the processing & packaging departments

  • Setup, takedown, and relocation of Process and Packaging equipment

  • Frequently modify packaging & process equipment for new products

  • Provide solutions to routine or unique equipment problems.

  • Experience with general shop tools and fabrication including use of grinders, saws, presses, lathes and mills

  • Lifting, twisting, carrying up to 45 lbs. is a requirement of the position

  • Working in non-temperature and temperature-controlled environments

  • Possibility of working around high noise levels, depending on location

  • Be able to wear full face respirator as necessary

  • Must be able to work in accordance with Health and Safety and GMP regulations

What You’ll Bring

  • 2 or more years’ mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred)

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) Ability to communicate effectively

  • Ability to perform in a manufacturing environment

  • Excellent Interpersonal, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Time Management and Organization; Ability to multi-task and react to changing priorities

Physical Capabilities

  • Occasionally exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force (up to 1/3 of the time).

  • Frequently applying 10 to 25 pounds of force (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time).

  • Constantly exerting greater than negligible force, up to 10 pounds (2/3 or more of the time) for moving objects.

  • Must have the ability to perform the following: Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Handling, Feeling, Seeing, Hearing
