Currently seeking a Metrology Technician to become part of the HIROTEC Team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate laser tracker, CMM, red light, and/or white, blue light scanners, ARGUS.”
Experienced utilizing Zeiss and Polyworks inspection software creating Engineering workbooks and inspection.
Provide necessary guidance and structure for changes, new directions, new processes, and new product introductions.
Prepare reports and communications for all stakeholders in the program.
Manage equipment and manpower to facilitate workload.
Measure, test, and inspect materials, products, machinery, and processes according to quality and safety standards, while meeting customer requirements.
Supervise and lead a team of metrology technicians, providing guidance and support.
Develop and implement calibration procedures and schedules for all measurement equipment.
Ensure all equipment is calibrated and maintained according to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records of calibration activities, equipment status, and certifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement equipment and calibration processes.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure measurement accuracy and support quality assurance initiatives.
Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
Confer with project staff to outline work plans and coordinate duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
Review status reports prepared by project personnel and plan schedules per program timing. Prepare project reports for management, clients, or others.
Review design progress as required.
Input into standardized methods and processes for inspection.
Participate in and support 5S, QS, kaizen, and lean manufacturing activities.
Proactively assess project quality and take appropriate corrective measures.
Work to continually improve Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Safety (QDCS).
Operate laser tracker, CMM, red light, and/or white light equipment.
Measure NC blocks, body panels, etc.; gather inspection point information from customer data and engineering drawings; provide reports/issues to project manager and quality personnel.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or a minimum of 5 years’ experience with training in Metrology; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of calibration standards, procedures, and equipment.
