Project Coordinator
In this position you will be a member of Markit!’s Business Development and Operations teams and you will be working to help attain new projects and assist the operations team on current projects in the states of California and Nevada.
Location: Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado; this position will be based out of the Auburn, CA office.
Travel: 50%
Duties:
Review project solicitations and help the Business Development team make go/no-go decisions.
Attend project site visits, making notes of resources needed, unit variations, slope, etc.
Assist the Business Development and Financial team with estimation of new projects.
Assist the Operations team on current projects through quality control, inspections, inventory, Client management, etc.
Coordinate with Clients for prework planning meetings, on-site inspections, and project close out.
Assist in training employees on basic silviculture and entomology within the region.
Conduct acreage audits of work performed for accuracy.
Conduct production studies with individual operations and overall workflows in varying conditions.
Research area mills, trucking companies and subcontractors, developing relationships for future project needs.
Required Skills:
Speak, read and write English.
Ability to utilize a cell phone, tablet and/or laptop.
Ability to travel on short notice, overnight travel may be required.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and austere environments.
Ability to read, comprehend, and explain complex forestry prescriptions.
Ability to coordinate site visit schedules.
Ability to provide a thorough narrative of recommended production rates and workflows from information collected on project site visits.
On the ground experience with GIS/GPS and data collection.
Desire to learn how to operate heavy machinery.
Preferred Background & Experience:
Personal experience with on the ground Forestry Operations.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
ISA Certified Arborist.
California Registered Professional Forester.
