The Specialist accurately inputs all information requested into the credentialing information system within established departmental time frames. This position is responsible for maintaining confidentiality of files and information, and may be assigned other duties necessary to maintain accurate, timely and complete credentialing files and processes..This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: High School Diploma required. Associate degree or Business school preferred.LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: CPCS and/or CPMSM preferredEXPERIENCE: Knowledge of computer applications required. Medical Terminology preferred. Prior credentialing experience preferred. Excellent oral and written skills required.PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSDemonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.WORK ENVIRONMENTPotential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
