The Technical Training Manager will oversee the design, development, and implementation of technical and skill-based training across Americas Carton and Foodservice organization, with a primary focus at the hourly and supervisor level. The position will work across the manufacturing plants to create systems to allow for the transfer of best practices and drive standards in how we onboard and train current and new employees to support advanced manufacturing practices within our facilities. This position will take systematic approach to the training and qualification process. The role is also the liaison between the plants and our corporate Learning and Development capability.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Build sustainable knowledge systems which leverage technology to provide training that is timely, effective, and rapid enabling our employees to execute their work safely and effectively.

  • Ensure that the requirements of the Americas technical Learning and Development Framework are adhered to and implemented.

  • Perform needs assessments with data and manufacturing leadership to define the problem/opportunity and identify the discrepancies between current and desired performances.

  • Collaborate with business partners and corporate Learning and Development to produce innovative learning strategies: training methodology identification (on-the-job training, skill assessments, knowledge assessments, eLearning courses, etc.), performance support needs (procedures, job aids and work instructions), or other solutions, as neededto create and sustain lean/high performance organization.

  • Participate in and oversee the execution of training in various environments to ensure carton staff is trained and qualified as required.

  • Observe, evaluate, and provides feedback on training activities, use of systematic approach to training processes, and Learning and Development.

  • Ensure that Americas training documentation and qualification guides for Americas carton employees and various departments are maintained according to standards.

  • Oversee the evaluation of training needs, job, and task analyses as well as performance analyses when required.

  • Develops, monitors, and reports on key performance indicators / metrics which track the effectiveness of training systems.

  • Acts as a mentor, coach, and technical leader in the implementation of learning best practices

  • Delivers strategic results from the application of learning methodologies and tools alongside effective change management.

  • Stays abreast of Operational Excellence, Organization Behavior and Learning research and best practices to effectively translate probabilities of success with the Americas Carton and Foodservice system.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications):

  • Experience in a technical training role within an industrial, pulp and paper, oil and gas, or chemical manufacturing industry.

  • Experience in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining training materials and programs.

  • Experience with building operational learning and development programs that support safe working practices, skill building, and operational efficiency.

  • Knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation techniques.

  • Experience with writing and executing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Experience in reading technical drawings/schematics.

  • Operations or Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with change management/transformation initiatives.

Education:

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related fields

Experience:

  • 5-7 years’ experience in assessing employee behavior and culture as an enabler to process and technology effectiveness within a manufacturing environment.

  • 5+ years of experience developing instructional or training materials.

  • 5 years process development, documentation, and improvement

  • 2 years leading people or teams

  • Experience in the application of adult learning methods in the development of training programs specific to production/operational work environments.

  • Experience in the application of project and program management practices supporting the execution of large and complex training programs.

  • Experience in the design, development, and implementation of technology-based learning programs, including online and blended method.

  • Demonstrated experience with application of lean/Operational Excellence principles and tools.

  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and performance management in manufacturing or field operations environments.

  • Demonstrated experience in working with all levels of an organization on strategic execution and process improvement.

Preferred experience :

  • Experience with Training needs assessment, design and delivery.

  • Project Management

Pay Range: $102,270.00 - $136,395.00
