Description

The Director of Supply Chain Applications is responsible for the strategic oversight, optimization, and management of all technology solutions that support supply chain operations.

This role ensures that WaveMark, Veradigm, BroadJump, and other key applications function effectively, meet business needs, and provide maximum return on investment.

Serving as the bridge between supply chain leadership, end-users, and Emory Digital, the Director will drive system enhancements, facilitate user adoption, and ensure applications align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Application Management & Optimization

  • Lead the strategic oversight, administration, and continuous improvement of all supply chain applications to support operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with supply chain leadership and IT teams to assess system performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement enhancements.

  • Partner with vendors to ensure timely updates, upgrades, and resolution of technical issues.

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of each application's functionality and how they integrate with broader enterprise systems.

  • Ensure compliance with security policies, industry regulations, and best practices in system administration.

2. User Engagement, Support & Training

  • Act as the primary business-side liaison for supply chain technology users, ensuring their needs are met through system capabilities.

  • Engage with stakeholders including procurement, logistics, finance, and clinical teams' to understand workflow challenges and optimize system usage.

  • Develop and oversee a structured user training program to increase adoption, improve proficiency, and maximize system benefits.

  • Provide ongoing support, including troubleshooting issues, responding to user inquiries, and working with Digital to resolve complex problems.

3. Collaboration with Emory Digital

  • Partner with Emory Digital leadership to align supply chain technology strategies with enterprise digital initiatives.

  • Ensure supply chain applications integrate effectively with other enterprise systems, such as ERP, EHR, and data analytics platforms.

  • Work closely with Digital teams on system security, data governance, and performance monitoring.

  • Advocate for necessary technology investments and improvements based on business needs and technological advancements.

4. Data Analytics & Performance Improvement

  • Utilize data-driven insights from supply chain applications to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvements.

  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to track system effectiveness and ensure applications are delivering expected value.

  • Work with analytics teams to enhance reporting capabilities, ensuring leadership has visibility into supply chain performance metrics.

  • Leverage predictive analytics and automation tools to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.

5. Technology Strategy & Roadmap Development

  • Develop a long-term roadmap for supply chain applications, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.

  • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in supply chain technology, recommending new solutions as needed.

  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for new application investments and system upgrades.

  • Lead vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, and RFP processes for new or replacement systems.

Additional Duties as Assigned This role is a hybrid role splitting time between working remotely and working in the office.

Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field

  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain operations, technology management, or enterprise applications leadership.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, finance, and IT.

  • Proven ability to lead system optimization projects, manage technology rollouts, and drive adoption.

  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and contract negotiations.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of WaveMark, Veradigm, BroadJump, and similar supply chain software platforms.

  • Experience in healthcare supply chain technology or within an academic medical center.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday) and inventory management platforms.

  • Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to healthcare supply chain operations.

  • Project Management: Experience managing system implementation projects, upgrades, and enhancements.
