Responsibilities, Qualifications, & Details:

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of our privacy program, including the drafting of the governance policies and procedures

  • Identify, track, and summarize applicable privacy and data security laws, in the US and internationally

  • Monitor industry trends to ensure continued compliance

  • Assist with data privacy impact assessments and ongoing compliance monitoring activities

  • Facilitate and promote activities to foster privacy awareness within the organization, including the development of the privacy training, FAQs, job aids and creative media

  • Have an understanding of the privacy practices within the organization in order to identify potential privacy risks and provide realistic solutions and preventative measures

  • Track, investigate, and assist in responding to privacy/security incidents and complaints in a manner that accurately documents the incident and the subsequent remediation

  • Perform project management tasks and tracking deliverables, including the drafting and maintaining of project plan documents

  • Assist in responding to inquiries and audits from outside parties, including regulators, clients, and customers

  • Coordinates, defines, designs, and implements solutions by gathering information from existing systems

  • Continually monitors systems, reviews documents, and liaises with other team members to maintain efforts requiring privacy engagement and controls across organization

  • Work on privacy related special projects as assigned

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree REQUIRED

  • Paralegal or Law Degree a plus

  • CIPP Certified or willingness to become Certified International Privacy Professional (CIPP)

  • 1 year of experience in at least one of the following:

  • Project management

  • Privacy or privacy laws

  • Information security

  • Legal

  • Background in privacy or information security

  • Knowledge of basic IT security

  • Basic knowledge of privacy laws preferred but not required

  • Strong research and investigative skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to identify issues and suggest solutions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to work independently when there are pressing deadlines and multiple priorities

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, matrixed environment by being flexible and willing to adapt to changing priorities comfortably

  • Likes working in a collaborative environment on a small, highly, engaged team

  • Strong project management skills

  • Understanding and ability to communicate in fundamental technical terms

  • Creative problem solver with a high degree of integrity and business ethics

  • Experience in gaining a detailed understanding of data- where it lives and how it's used

  • Flexible to adapt to changing conditions, regulations, and best practices

    Pay Rate: $30.00hr - $33.00hr DOE

    Shift Start/End Time: first shift/general business hours

    Length of Assignment: 1 year - possibility to convert to FTE based on performance and skill set
