How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for Senior Software Development Engineers, DevOps in Atlanta, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage thebuild process for multiple concurrent releases in cloud environment.

  • Automate thebuild and deployment process through the build system.

  • Maintainvarious software feature branches using a Source Control System balancer,HTTP/HTTPS communication, and browser clients as it pertains to a large-scaleweb application environment.

  • Design andconfigure continuous integration build system through collaboration withdevelopment and IT teams.

  • Participatein deployment and configuration of the application as needed.

  • Participatein deployment meetings and consult with the team to refine, test, and debugprograms to meet technical needs.

  • Understandservers and databases and related architecture requirements and ensure thoserequirements can be achieved and maintained through high-quality deliverables.

  • Developproof of concepts and propose solutions to architecture and tech leads.

  • Supportoperationally critical environment, using monitoring tools and scripts, datafeeds and associated scripts, research, and analysis of production issues,capturing logging.

  • Assist inserver patching activities. Participate in application load tests and assistwith troubleshooting.

  • Ensureability to troubleshoot SOA, network, WAF/firewall, load balancer, HTTP/HTTPScommunication, and browser clients as it pertains to a large-scale webapplication environment.

  • Orchestrateand automate CICD pipelines, build & release, configuration management,continuous deployments, and DevOps engineering with various DevOps tools.

  • Create andmaintain DSL scripts used as pipelines in Jenkins to successfully implementCICD process by integrating tools like git, GitLab, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus,Linux, Ansible, OpenShift, AWS-ROSA and WebSphere/JBoss application servers tobuild and deploy applications.

  • Automate and deploy enterprise applications onPaaS OpenShift platform and other J2EE containers like WebSphere, JBoss serversusing Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Maven, Nexus, Linux, windows, and GitLab.Telecommuting permitted 2-3 days per week.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Computing, Biotechnology, or a related field, and 5 years of experience in information technology.

Must have work experience in:

  • Deployment containers - Openshift, Websphere, and Jboss;

  • DevOps tools - Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Maven, Gradle, Nexus, Linux, Sonar, and GitLab;

  • Software development - Programming, testing, debugging, identifying, and resolving software problems and load testing;

  • System maintenance and upgrades including Linux server file system partitions, storage, performance analytics, reporting, patching, and installation of new software; and

  • Monitoring system and application health checks for code diagnostics.
