Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for Senior Software API Developers in Atlanta, Georgia. Design and develop business, application, data, and infrastructure solutions and seek opportunities to optimize performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot application components as required in the cloud.

  • Play an active role in application architecture and be a key voice in technical initiatives and projects requiring integration of cross-functional systems.

  • Design and develop software with consideration for non-functional requirements, including scalability, reliability, availability, observability, fault tolerance, security, and maintainability.

  • Create system documentation and playbook(s) and serve as a technical reviewer and contributor for business requirements, software design, and code review.

  • Develop test case designs, perform test case executions, and work with product teams to resolve identified issues.

  • Strive for continuous improvement in all areas of development and deployment and use and contribute to the continuous integration and continuous delivery process.

  • Write well-designed, non-complex, testable, and efficient code.

  • Collaborate with developers across multiple products and teams to build consensus regarding the creation of reusable application components.

  • Aid and cover for other team members as required, including for troubleshooting and the maintenance of production systems, programs, and applications

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field, and three years of experience with software development or related.

  • In the alternative, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems,

  • Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field, and two years of experience with software development or related.

  • Relational and NoSQL databases and web service development standards and practices, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and SOA services;

  • Working with containers and managed container orchestrators (Kubernetes/OpenShift) in the cloud including AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service, Azure Kubernetes Service, or Red Hat OpenShift;

  • Authentication and Authorization protocols includingoAuth2.0 or OpenID Connect;

  • Cloud-native development in the Spring/Spring Boot ecosystem, developing and deploying applications in major cloud providers including AWS or Azure; and

  • DevSecOps or automation experience in code testing, building, and deployment using tools including VeraCode, SonarQube, Tekton, Jenkins, GitHub, or GitLab.
