HD Supply Senior SAP Basis Administrator in Atlanta, Georgia

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relative experience in SAP Basis Administration on large scale and fast paced environments

  • 3+ years of subject matter expertise in SAP HANA Administration, Installation, and Operations

  • Establishes and maintains application configuration and support process documentation.

  • Basic OS knowledge of UNIX and/or Linux and Windows

  • Production System troubleshooting - SAP & Databases (HANA 2.0 and S/4 HANA)

  • Subject matter expertise in both maintaining and troubleshooting SAP Systems on HANA Databases

  • Worked with patch updates, kernel upgrades, system upgrade (Release Upgrade), backups/restore, EWA setups, and familiarity with SAP Software Update Manager.

  • Technical experience to manage and support SAP including general Basis Administration, Work Bench Organizer, Data Dictionary, Transport Management system, Client Strategy, System Landscape, Printer Setupand On-line Support System.

  • Agile experience leveraging toolsets such as JIRA and Confluence.

  • Identifies opportunities to streamline and improve efficiency and collaborates with teams across the department to automate commodity processes.

  • Identifies, measures, and proposes continuous improvement opportunities for service delivery processes

  • Basic understanding of System Replication and Disaster Recovery

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Generalized experience and knowledge of SAP Data Services (EIM), MDG, Enterprise Portal, Fiori, SAP EWM and Solution Manger.

  • Experience with SAP Archiving

  • Familiarity with SAP Environments running on cloud platforms e,g. GCP, Azure, etc.

  • Experience with third party products such as: Mulesoft, Open Text, Splunk, and 3P Archiving Solutions.

  • Experience with SAP Automation Tools such as Basis Technologies, Active Control, Jenkins, etc.

  • Experience with Libelle - automation

  • SAP Techmon / Alerting experience

  • Scripting, Winshuttle, DevOps automation, infrastructure as code, RPA, python, Unix shell scripts

Job Summary

Participate in the design, implementation and support of critical ECC 5.0/6.0, Solution Manager, VIRSA, Content Server and other SAP systems. Utilize extensive technical skills, respond to critical situations, serve as team leader, and identify problems and appropriate resolution. Work with support teams as well as the business and technical community.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Serves as an integrator to the functional business teams for technical services provided by the BASIS team, the client infrastructure provider and vendors/other service providers.

  • Collaborates with team to determine strategy and plan for system implementations and upgrades.

  • Develops practices and procedures to manage technologies based on 'best practice' standards. Leads effort to develop technical standards to support and operate technologies within the system landscape.

  • Develops methodologies and practices to manage and plan system capacity based on projected growth rate to ensure system performance remains at acceptable levels.

  • Contributes to the development of strategies and methodologies to manage the system's lifecycle program in terms of ensuring compliance with vendor release.

  • Develops and maintains a system landscape that accommodates multiple support functions such as prototyping, development, testing and training.

  • Defines the processes and procedures necessary to operate and monitor the technical environments. Implements and supports enterprise applications in a global environment.

  • Develops and tracks activities through project plans. Ensures that projects meet established time and cost parameters while adhering to established practices, procedures and standards.

Nature and Scope

  • Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.

  • Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.

  • May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
