Senior Product Operations Manager

The Role:

Splunk is seeking a highly motivated Product Operations Manager. This person will play a critical role in helping to scale Splunk’s growth. Primary responsibilities include collaborating with product leaders to identify, capture, and analyze KPIs to improve product performance, operations, and alignment to business outcomes as well as driving critical initiatives across product and engineering teams to ensure successful execution and timely delivery.

This cross-functional role collaborates regularly with the rest of the product and engineering organization, along with marketing, finance, sales support, and customer success. As this role is new, there will be plenty of opportunities to take on varied projects in product working across multiple teams and departments.

The successful candidate will be an analytical rock-star that is comfortable working mostly in an unstructured environment and requires a self-starter and not afraid to ask difficult questions. Proven track record of leading initiatives, working cross-functionally to achieve goals, and succeeding in a team environment. Last but not least, a rolling up your sleeves demeanor is very important – Splunk is a very lean and entrepreneurial company.

  • Define and build out key metrics (e.g., product, customer usage, financial) to evaluate and assess business performance

  • Design, develop, maintain, and deliver Splunk-wide metrics and scorecards in the form of W/M/QBR reports to drive key business decisions.

  • Track results against the targets systemically, conduct the root-cause analysis, and present data-backed findings to senior leaders periodically

  • Assess key metrics and progress of key initiatives and ensure product commitments and priorities are being performed

  • Identify potential growth opportunities including new markets, verticals, geos in a data driven and analytical approach.

  • Collaborate with the data analytics and GTM teams to establish a single repository of metrics. Monitor and analyze existing metrics and partner with internal team members to find opportunities for improvement

  • Establish and manage the operational cadence including weekly operational reviews, monthly and quarterly business reviews to ensure progress against our strategy and plan

  • Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve efficiencies and streamline processes across product teams and with GTM to improve product delivery

  • Manage critical x-product initiatives and dependencies, and provide regular status updates to senior leadership to drive alignment on key strategic decisions and/or asks required to achieve our committed plans

  • Communicate key updates and dependencies across relevant partners to ensure seamless operational interlock and product delivery

Requirements: I’ve already done that or have that!

  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, banking or an analytical role in enterprise software or SaaS companies. Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and high attention to detail

  • Works effectively in an unstructured environment requiring new perspectives and creative approaches, and with multiple competing deadlines. Strong work ethic

  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated track record for building collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization

  • Ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong organizational and program management skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • MBA or equivalent practical experience

  • Prior knowledge of Splunk a plus.
