About the Team:

This team supports our sales organization and works with multiple functional areas such as product, technical, marketing, security, pricing, and legal to develop persuasive responses to customers’ RFPs/RFQs/RFIs and other proposal documents.

About the Role:

The Proposal Manager is primarily responsible for managing and writing responses to corporate customers’ Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Quotes (RFQs), and Information (RFIs). Oversees the overall development and production of winning sales proposals. Supports primarily the healthcare division of LexisNexis Risk Solutions but will assist other divisions within the company as needed. The Proposal Manager also specializes in positioning LexisNexis Risk Solutions as the preferred provider for data, technology, and analytical solutions for fraud and identity risk management. Also develops proactive proposals as needed and manages the timely completion of various other related projects.

The position may be based remotely (from home) or at a local office

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the development and production of persuasive, well-organized, and easy-to-read proposals that communicate solutions responsive to RFP requirements

  • Analyzes RFP requirements, prepares proposal outlines, and coordinates with subject matter experts to produce compelling and compliant RFP responses

  • Leads the overall response process, including RFP analysis, bid/no bid decisions, solution development, proposal timeline management, and win strategy development. Develops and employs tools to ensure the response is fully compliant to each RFP’s specifications

  • Assists with developing the overall proposal strategy, storyboard, win themes, key differentiators, and pricing strategy that position LexisNexis Risk Solutions as the preferred vendor

  • Develops compliance matrices for large, complex RFPs

  • Meets proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, reviews, approvals, and signatures

  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of LexisNexis Risk Solutions products and services, business strategies, plans, and competition

  • Composes clear and concise answers to customer inquiries and requests for clarification

  • Manages the completion of select forms and other requests for customers and prospects

  • Assists sales team with presentations

  • Contributes to proposal database repository including frequently asked questions, templates, and examples

  • Evaluates and recommends process improvements

  • Tracks and manages win/loss and other proposal metrics

  • Mentors other proposal writers and team members

  • Promotes company-wide understanding of and adherence to the RFP process

  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelors level degree in a related subject area preferred (e.g. Communications, English, Business, Journalism)

  • 5-7 years related experience; minimum 3 years proposal management experience

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve business issues and collaboratively build solutions

  • Able to work closely and effectively with sales, SMEs, and other team members while concurrently managing multiple proposals.

  • Strong proficiency in writing and editing using Microsoft Office products

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Copilot is desired

  • Excellent business communication skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Attention to detail, follow-up, and resolution

  • Excellent teaming and leadership skills. Able to interact with all levels of management

  • Able to work under tight proposal deadlines and produce high quality work

  • Successful working in a self-directed environment

  • Previous experience with LexisNexis Risk Solutions (particularly healthcare products), LexisNexis Legal & Professional, or other RELX companies is desired

  • Previous experience with proposal software (such as Qvidian) is desired

The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for Colorado and Illinois: $84,900 - $148,700 USD

The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for New York and Washington DC: $93,000 - $162,800 USD

The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for Maryland: $89,200 - $148,700 USD
