Job Description
The Product Innovation Enterprise Architect is a technical leader who bridges the gap between business strategy, technology, and product development, driving innovation and ensuring product solutions and architecture supports the company’s product vision.
This role is responsible for initiating and leading product solutions that enhance our core product offerings, improve customer experience, create a competitive edge and mitigate risks. The focus of this role will be on the new product development life cycle and product solutions that differentiate Prime’s product lines.
The Product Innovation Enterprise Architect leads the analysis and design tasks to support the development of product solutions across multiple business capabilities ensuring the resulting architecture improves Prime’s core products and at the same time algins with architecture standards.
Responsibilities
Partner with Product Innovation at the start and within the full product development lifecycle (Ideate, Validate, Design & Solve, Develop & implement, Sell, launch & warranty) to enable innovations and technology adoption that enhances core product offerings, ensuring competitiveness, scalability, and sustainability
Guide the Product Innovation organization to identify and adopt emerging technologies to improve product capabilities and customer experiences
Contribute to creating a competitive edge by integrating innovative products, technologies, and architecture designs into Prime’s value streams and supporting capabilities
Directly support the Validate and Design & Solve phases of product development process by assessing vendors, evaluating solution options, identifying and sizing impacts and defining solutions to support the product business case
Drive efficient architecture and technology choices to reduce development, operational, and product maintenance costs
Enhance customer experience by bringing a customer-focused approach to understanding and elaborating problems, products, and solutions
Effectively communicate the benefits and potential risks of new solutions, technologies, and architectural changes to stakeholders
Collaborate with business and technology leaders, product managers, product owners, architects, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure product solution alignment and a holistic approach to product innovation
Contribute to creating a shared product and solution vision, fostering collaboration and alignment across teams
Research, drive, and lead adoption of emerging technology trends, disruptions, and practices relevant to Product innovation and core product offerings
Advocate for testing new products and technologies on a smaller scale to manage risk before broader capability integration
Ensure that product solution and technology choices align with Prime’s overall business goals, enterprise, and product roadmap
Develop, maintain, and evolve the product architecture and solution contexts (current state, transition state, and future state) in support of the product roadmap
Identify and drive capability and new product development process improvements and identify enablement investments to improve our ability to adopt and scale new products
Lead the analysis of the business-IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt impacting products, and recommend solutions for improvement
Coach, mentor, and collaborate with technical subject matter experts and architecture peers to develop architecture that enables and drive new business capabilities and operating models
Drive architecture practice process consistency and continuously improve enterprise and solution architecture practices for the assigned area

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
10 years of related work experience in Business Analysis, System Design and Development, Systems Engineering, or technical architecture; to include 5 years direct experience working within an Architect role
Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
Significant business analysis and business architecture experience consisting of business capability modeling, value stream definition and optimization, design thinking, business process optimization and business case development
Significant experience defining and standardizing design and architecture patterns Product Innovation and development
Advanced ability to communicate and present effectively at multiple levels of the organization
Ability to define, plan, initiate and lead architecture and teams for assigned area and scope
Demonstrate wide understanding of multiple domain areas, with ability to apply practical and pragmatic solutions
Self-learner, ability to work independently and direct the learning and work of others
Experience handling all solution types, ranging from organization and process to implementing and integrating third party solutions, new system builds, legacy enhancements, and Cloud solutions
Experience as a senior level architect working on significant enterprise initiatives
Previous experience working with enterprise architecture tools
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with New Product Development (NPD) approaches and processes
Practitioner knowledge of enterprise and business architecture development
Experience working with regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA and/or PCI)
Previous experience in Pharmacy Benefit Administration, Pharmacy Benefit Management, or health care industry
Previous experience working in Agile/Product Delivery and scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS)
Strong experience with software development life cycle and project management principles
In-depth knowledge of two or more architectural domains (application, infrastructure, integration, and/or security)
Formal Enterprise Architecture training and certification
Experience modeling Enterprise Architectures with industry standard modeling notation
Physical Demands
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time

Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Potential pay for this position ranges from $143,000.00 - $243,000.00 based on experience and skills.
