Shepard Exposition Services Logistics Sales Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

The Logistics Sales Manager will generate revenue for the organization through the sales of logistics services and specialized logistics projects. This role is responsible for directing all logistics sales activities nationwide and maintaining and improving sales and overall gross profit for local, regional, and domestic shipping services, including air, ground, van lines, flatbeds, truckloads, and caravans for the logistics department.

Essential Job Duties

  • Establish and implement sales objectives and goals for the logistics department

  • Develop and execute sales strategy to maintain sales volume and grow sales by a minimum of 3% annually

  • Build relationships with logistics customers for future sales

  • Attend sales meetings, pre-show events, and other company functions

  • Attend shows nationwide where high profile clients will be in attendance and service on-site needs

  • Identify events where the company can maximize profits from caravans and truckload opportunities

  • Keep track of quality, delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency

  • Provide routing with preferred carrier base

  • Track and trace shipments from pickup through POD

  • Invoice and obtain cash collections for balances due

  • Process and maintain accounting reports for A/R tracking

  • Price services and communicate pricing to customers in an expeditious manner

  • Collaborate with other operations departments to ensure quality service and consistency in communication

  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience selling and servicing shipping or transportation services

  • Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience

  • Ability to travel nationwide as business dictates

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Proficient in operating standard office equipment and software including Microsoft Office

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; relevant experience may be substituted for formal education
