Inventory Management Leader - Atlanta, GA
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Global Planning Leader, the Inventory Management Leader will lead the development and execution of all inventory programs across WestRock. As a member of the Global Planning leadership team, the successful candidate will inventory is held at appropriate levels throughout the network to meet the service goals in both rollstock and packaging finished goods. The Inventory Management team will set inventory targets and oversee deployment of inventory to internal and external customers on a day-to-day basis. This position is responsible for building strong relationships with our commercial, operations, and finance leadership and across planning functions to maximize service levels to our customers while minimizing working capital deployed.
How you will impact WestRock:
Maintain an overall inventory strategy aligned with WestRock business strategy and key operating metrics
Actively manage and communicate all risks associated with inventory planning & management. Examples of the inventory planning risks include obsolescence, excess inventory, and stock-outs
Set inventory levels aligned with IBP outlooks using industry best practice statistical methods
Monitor inventory consumption compared to the plan and initiate actions as needed to balance inventory levels; make inventory decisions to meet customer OTIF in the IBP and ITP time horizons
Oversee and manage finished goods deployment to customers, assign inventory to customer release orders and manages top-ups and replenishment against finished goods inventory targets.
Manage roll stock deployment to plants and regional distribution centers (RDC’s) while balancing the pipeline. The function transfers roll stock within and across nodes/locations as necessary.
Actively manage / dispose aged and obsolete inventory collaborating with logistics / warehousing team and finance / accounting.
Manage execution of board trade / swap volumes in accordance with commercial agreements
What you will need to succeed:
10+ years of experience in supply chain leadership, with experience in inventory management, in a complex high-volume manufacturing environment
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or business is required. A Master’s degree is preferred
Track record of supporting commercial and operations teams and developing strong working relationships in a large complex global organization
Experience managing dynamic environments, balancing cost, and service, resolving conflicting priorities, and aligning stakeholders to make decisions
Continuous improvement mindset and focus on building common and sustainable business processes
Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-drive and changing organization
Possess integrity, a high level of confidence, strong initiative taking, the ability to get agreement/buy-in, and a team-oriented work ethic
