Amazon Finance Manager - AWS Sales, Marketing & Global Services in Atlanta, Georgia

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Finance Manager to support the North America Sales leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest Cloud Sales divisions within Amazon and help lead executive engagement, operational planning, and controllership for a strategic AWS Global Sales organization.

The successful candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate ability to influence business leaders in rapidly evolving environments. This role requires a self-starter with strong modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects effectively. Prior experience in FP&A with knowledge of financial systems and data analytics with ability to quickly surface insights will be highly valuable. This role will manage key areas associated with Financial Planning, Reporting, and Analysis, and will have regular interaction with senior Business and Finance leadership across AWS.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead annual and long term planning, budgeting, and tracking of revenue and key cost drivers

  • Provide financial and data insights to help prepare leadership team for key reviews

  • Provide thought leadership to identify risks to revenue growth and provide recommendations to mitigate risk for the North America Sales team

  • Provide controllership on revenue, OpEx, margins, and model profit margin scenarios, and work with leadership and FP&A teams to develop and drive margin improvement plans

  • Provide actionable insights to leadership based on analysis of revenue trends, account performance details, sales productivity, and cloud landscape.

About the team

The AWS North America Sales Finance provides direct finance support to the Executive leadership of NA Sales team. NA Sales is the largest driver of AWS revenue with double digit growth. Key responsibilities of the team include Financial Planning/Reporting (FP&A), OpEx and Revenue controllership, Analysis/Insights to accelerate business growth and productivity, and leading engagement with Senior Executives in preparation for executive reviews.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
