Summary
The Regional Environmental, Health & Safety Manager is primarily responsible for the consistent implementation, management, and monitoring of all environmental, health, and safety programs across our North Region. This role requires exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills as well as the ability to lead and manage groups or individuals in relation to compliance with Environmental Health & Safety policies and practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage all corporate environmental, health, and safety programs across all assigned locations.
Conducts site visits to support the preparation and implementation of site-specific procedures/requirements/programs that will ensure compliance with Corporate EHS Programs as well as federal/state/local regulations.
Provide hands-on support at the operating site level.
Prepare, maintain, assure timely submittal of all regulatory reporting including OSHA 300 log and injury records, Tier 2 Reporting, Environmental Inventory Questionnaires (EIQ), Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) Reports, Air Quality and Biennial Reports and other environmental reports identified, as necessary.
Provides monthly status reports regarding the initiatives of each facility EHS program.
Establishes and ensures that site locations are adhering to corporate standards, actively communicating to all plant personnel regarding EHS related issues and are developing the appropriate corrective action plans.
Monitor and uphold employee health and safety by leading the Employee Health & Safety (EHS) Safety Ambassador Program.
Facilitate and support implementation of Lean 5S continuous improvement projects.
Actively supports and contributes to the development of a corporate EHS strategy.
Coordinate and analyze industrial hygiene sampling and exposure evaluations for such as chemical exposure, noise, dusts, vapors, mists, solvents which are known or suspected of being real or potential detriments to health.
Lead implementation of EHS training and communication programs and best practices.
Keeps the Corporate Director of EHS always informed of issues within assigned area of responsibility; escalates situations as needed to reach desired resolutions.
Works closely with the Human Resources Department, and, where appropriate, to review and monitor workers compensation claims costs and develop plans to minimize active claims.
Lead site level root cause incident investigations assists in developing and implementing corrective actions to resolve EHS issues and track corrective action items to closure.
Analyze KPI safety metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest.
Develop and implement site emergency response plans and serve as the emergency coordinator for events.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, or 5+ years of work experience managing safety, health, and environmental compliance and reporting functions in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to travel out-of-state; estimated 40% travel.
Knowledge of Federal and State(s) Regulations pertaining to safety, health, and environmental regulatory requirements within a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Good written and verbal skills when addressing either individuals or groups.
Ability to track and trend performance of multiple locations based on incident data obtained through internal tracking mechanisms.
Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Dependable, motivated, and self-starter.
Ability to multi-task and be highly organized.

Working Conditions
Candidate must be able to stand for long periods of time. Climbing, bending, and lifting are required at times.
Must be able to sit at a computer when necessary and move throughout all divisions of plant.
Must be able to drive and / or fly to different branches in your region.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42”, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
