The Ambulatory Clinic Nurse provides ambulatory clinic care services by assessing, planning, directing, evaluating, and performing skills related to patient care in CMH clinics. Coordinates all services necessary for the care of assigned patients. Provides professional nursing care to patients in the clinic setting in compliance with professional practice standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team. Job Requirements Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: A thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures; knowledge and skills in techniques of good patient care whether medical or surgical, including multiple monitoring techniques. Demonstrates proficient computer skills. Must be flexible as needs arise and possess willingness to acquire new skills and adapt to a changing environment. Must possess assessment skills for all age groups. Must be able to speak, understand, read and write English. Must be able to operate office machines, as well as medical-related equipment. Must be flexible as needs arise and possess a willingness to acquire new or perform difference skills while adapting to a changing environment. This position is responsible for maintaining a warm welcoming, professional atmosphere while performing general office duties. License/Certifications: • Current unencumbered Oregon RN License • Current unencumbered Washington State RN License • Current BLS through American Heart Association • Current ACLS through American Heart Association Education and/or Experience • Minimum Education: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. • Preference will be given to candidate with BSN. • Minimum Experience: A thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedure, and skills and techniques. • Ambulatory clinic experience preferred within the past 2 years. • Previous experience with ambulatory clinic chronic disease management required. • Previous experience with vaccines and immunization schedules preferred Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance Normal or correct vision is required to monitor patient. Occasionally will work extended hours or variation of usual shift and will be dependent on patient requirements. Ability to lift and transfer patients is required, usually with the assistance of co-workers, but some occasional lifting without assistance. Normal to corrected vision is required. Standing is necessary. Normal or corrected hearing is necessary to distinguish differences in monitor alarms, heartbeats, and breathing. Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment. Subject to physical and emotional stress of work environment. Must be willing and committed to safe management of potentially infectious diseases. Pushes/pulls loaded adult, wheelchairs, crash carts and equipment carts. Tolerates bending, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling for 8 – 12 hours (shift dependent). Lifts or carries up to 50 lbs.
