Blue Origin LLC Heat Treat Technician (Night shift) (R39543) in Arlington, Washington

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the thermal processing of a wide range of aerospace hardware; assisting with specification, procurement, and installation of equipment; operation and maintenance of vacuum furnaces, sub-systems, and ancillary equipment; assisting with process documentation and controls; performance of Pyrometric testing and certification of vacuum furnace equipment. In this hands-on position, you'll work with engineers in the manufacturing area to build our launch vehicles and spacecraft. We seek people who are passionate about space and possess a strong desire to continuously learn and improve existing skills and techniques, as well as the development of new skills and techniques. Special Mentions Relocation provided Shifts available: Night Shift Monday- Thursday:3:30 PM-2:00 AM Responsibilities: Perform thermal processing operations to obtain high quality high-quality results of brazing, hardness, thermal straightening, and mechanical properties of aerospace components. Work with manufacturing, and engineers to design and improvements of thermal processes. Perform upkeep of vacuum heat treat furnace(s), including surveys and calibrations. Assist with the development of new processes to solve challenging problems, including heat treatment and hot straightening of castings. Documentation and generation of certification for heat treat cycles. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Previous experience processing aerospace parts HMI/Computer familiarity for interacting with the furnace. Familiar with post-process testing such as hardness, and mechanical testing. Strong written and personal computer skills. Ability to operate manual tools (screwdrivers, hammers, etc) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent of 5 years of aerospace thermal processing experience resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Experience thermally processing aerospace materials such as stainless steel, copper, nickel and cobalt alloys, and titanium alloys. 1+ of aerospace vacuum thermal processing experience. Ability to operate manual machine tools (lathe, mill). Forklift experience.
