Amazon Technical Program Manager, Hardware Supply Chain Security Team (HSCS) in Arlington, Virginia

As an AWS Security team member, you will help secure that environment for our customers while working on security initiatives for a variety of new platforms and technologies, all operating at massive scale.

We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager with a background in breaking down problems, creating strong mechanisms, and delivering results.

You will be responsible for leading multiple simultaneous programs in a highly cross-functional environment including internal customers, engineering, supply chain, and operations teams, as well as external vendors. They will have driven continuous process improvement, and collaborated effectively with cross-functional teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.

In this role, you’ll provide leadership for global security programs that secure AWS hardware infrastructure. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you’ll need to be able to deal with ambiguity and solve complex problems. You’ll have high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, in a dynamic, fast-changing organization. Using data and key metrics, you will also drive and measure process improvements that enhance our operational effectiveness. Project management, critical thinking and problem-solving skills will be used daily. You should be open to new challenges, extremely good at multi-tasking, innovative, creative, and self-directed.

A strong background in enterprise or data center infrastructure is desirable for your success in this technical position. You must have a proven track record of project completion that is on time and within budget. You must be able to command the intellectual respect of engineers as well as run effective projects on compressed timelines while dealing with ambiguity. This role will require up to 10% travel depending on project life cycles.

  • Drive global initiatives that impact the infrastructure operations of AWS

  • Create programs that enable the measurement of security initiative impact

  • Build metrics that are used to understand infrastructure security health

  • Write documents with senior leadership visibility that describe program status

  • Partner with organizations across AWS to understand their business and how security impacts them.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
