THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD AND WILL BE LOCATED IN CRYSTAL CITY – ARLINGTON, VA
S&K Engineering & Research, LLC (SKER), a member of the S&K Family of Companies and owned by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, is actively seeking a Policy Support to join our team. SKT was formed in 1999 with a vision to become one of the preeminent professional services firms in the country and to provide opportunity and prosperity to the people of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT). Since inception, the enterprise has grown into a family of ten subsidiary companies that support federal and commercial customers around the world.
The Policy Support position supports the review of policy documents using subject matter expertise and an understanding of DHS, NPPD, IP, and ISCD policies, which may be used to develop Executive Office directives, orders, strategies; draft legislation; and regulatory initiatives.
• Support the review of policy documents using subject matter expertise and an understanding of DHS, NPPD, IP, and ISCD policies, which may be used to develop Executive Office directives, orders, strategies; draft legislation; and regulatory initiatives. • Support the development of procedural or position papers, reports, white papers, recommendations, issues papers, briefings, discussion documents, statements for the record, etc. that may be used to respond to requests from the Government Accountability Office (GAO), Congressional Budget Office, Congress, and other requesting organizations. • Assist with compiling, reviewing, and summarizing complex comments to documents. Assist with developing responses to comments on documents. • Assist with developing concise responses to complicated stakeholder inquiries. • Assist with developing stakeholder meeting and webinar invitations. • Assist with documenting and summarizing meetings – must be detail oriented. • Assist with developing tracking project progress. Assist with graphically representing information and data. • Assist with developing summaries of information and projects for various documents and newsletters. Assist with organizing stakeholder meetings (registration and onsite assistance). • Assist the Policy and Rulemaking Branch (PRB) with scheduling. Assist PRB with travel reservations.

• Minimum of a 4-year bachelor’s degree in public policy or a related 4-year degree from an accredited university and 5 years’ experience working in a professional office environment.
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:
• Current drivers’ license, proof of U.S. citizenship or proof of authorization to work in the US and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance enabling access to various Government facilities.
Special knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Must have ability to communicate verbally and in written form effectively, and the ability to work within U.S. Government contractual realm. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Excellent telephone skills and knowledge of working with customers & vendors. • To perform this job successfully, an individual will have knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software.
