Audio Visual Specialist

Work location: Primarily remote with physical work location 612 E Lamar Blvd. Arlington, TX 76011

Work hours: Full Time, 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

  • This role will work closely in supporting the Office of Accreditation with video production and editing needs related to continuing medical education classes and events.

Here’s What You Need

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Communications, Film & Video Production, Information Technology Systems, or other relevant field 4 Years Four years relevant work experience in lieu of a degree accepted is required

Experience

  • 4 Years Proven experience as an audio-visual technician or video production specialist is required

What You Will Do

Audio-Visual Coordination & Delivery:

  • Collaborates primarily with the Texas Health Resources University - Office of Accreditation team as well as other stakeholders to provide guidance and support for audio visual services, including audio/video technical support for live events (including live streaming), video recording, video editing, and video content management.

  • Coordinates all audio-visual project pre-production responsibilities, including (but not limited to) partnering with the customer to develop an overall plan and/or script for video shoots as well as determining staffing and equipment needs, camera placement, camera blocking, lighting, etc.

  • Travels to various hospitals and other locations within the Texas Health enterprise to perform services.

  • Operates and calibrates audio-visual equipment during onsite events and/or productions.

  • Selects and supervises third party contractors for additional audio-visual support, if needed

  • Formulates quotes and cost estimates for audio visual services when appropriate.

  • Documents services provided for billing records.

  • Manages and fulfills customer requests for audio-visual services using the request intake tools and processes adopted by the THRU Learning Shared Services team.

Digital Signage Administration & Support:

  • Serves as the account owner and system administrator of cloud-based digital signage software used by THRU.

  • Authors, schedules, and publishes content on digital signage platform.

  • Liaisons with appropriate contacts at Texas Health hospital entities (such as leadership, facilities management, real estate, and Information Technology) to coordinate the installation of new digital signage hardware.

  • Partners with local IT representatives at Texas Health hospital entities to coordinate maintenance and technical support for existing digital signage hardware.

  • Manages and fulfills customer requests for new digital signage content using the request intake tools and processes adopted by the THRU Learning Shared Services team.

Equipment & Vendor Management:

  • Manages, maintains, and recommends replacement for video production equipment (including cameras, microphones, lighting equipment, cables, etc.)

  • Maintains and coordinates support for video streaming hardware.

  • Manages inventory and coordinates support for all digital signage hardware (including video walls & displays, content players, and mounts). Orders additional or replacement hardware, as needed.

  • Serves as primary point of contact for all vendors related to audio-visual and digital signage services.

Other relevant duties as assigned:

  • Research latest audio-visual technology trends and recommends upgrades and/or new purchases for the department.
