COMMUNITY BLOOD CENTER INC Controller in APPLETON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB SUMMARY The Controller partners with the Vice President, Finance by leading the accounting team, overseeing the financial reporting process, ensuring effective internal controls are in place, and partnering with leaders across Midwest Blood Centers, Inc. (MBC). The Controller will partner with leaders to evaluate financial results and support various activities to further support the mission, vision and values of MBC. In accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, the Controller is responsible for general ledger maintenance in the accounting system, journal entries and account reconciliations. As a leader, you will inspire, train and collaborate with those in your department accordingly in addition to focusing on the organization\'s strategic goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned) - Oversees the accounting operations, including preparation of financial statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. - Ensures accounting procedures and financial reporting are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). - Serves as a business partner to leaders across the Company to provide financial information, review financial performance to budget and variance analyses, report on key performance indicators, and provide other analyses to support Company initiatives. - Prepares quarterly financial reports for board committee meetings, including financial statements, variance reports, and key performance indicators. - Partners with the Vice President, Finance to develop the annual budget, and work with department leaders to develop department operating and capital expense budgets, and support ongoing financial forecasting. - Oversees the activities of external auditors for year-end financial audit, and other audits. - Responsibility for developing and leading continuous process improvement activities for the blood center. - Complies with all corporate policies and procedures, FDA regulations, AABB standards and applicable state and federal regulations. JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education and/or Experience - Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance or related field. - CPA preferred. - At least 5 years of progressive work experience, and responsibility. - High level of analytical and strategic thinking. - Prior leadership experience. - Proven experience using accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, and various business applications. - Ability to communicate effectively and partner with all levels of management. - Experience with non-profit or healthcare is preferred. - Employee may occasionally be required to lift objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
