Northrop Grumman Production Planner and Scheduler in Apopka, Florida

Northrop Grumman Space Components has an opening for a Production Planner and Scheduler to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Apopka, FL . on 1st shift.

Summary:

Analyzes all scheduling reports including a capacity base on work breakdown schedule, material requirements list, and production plans for work centers.

Must understand how a Bill of Materials is developed and managed through the product life cycle, including identifying make and buy parts and revision control of parts.

Must understand & execute material requirements plan (MRP), capacity planning, and other advanced material planning needs.

Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and production problems to ensure that personnel/equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed; confirms material supply and demands.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform work order variance analysis and review MRP execution and ensure accuracy of information, reconcile supply, and demand, and validate master scheduling requirement.

  • Performs risk analysis, identifying and resolving critical path and MRP logic conflicts.

  • Analyzes risks to identified solutions and bottlenecks, including forward and reverse scheduling methods, for schedule recovery.

  • The planner must understand manufacturing capacity and allocate as required to meet build plan commitments. Expedites and reschedules open purchase orders to suit the production-planning requirement.

  • Create and release manufacturing orders based on bill-of-materials and configuration. Close work orders after sub-assemblies, and ensure assemblies and integration are complete.

  • Track material shortages for manufacturing orders, kits, and sub-assemblies based on bill-of-material or drawings/configuration. Communicate to the program team and management critical part shortages that will jeopardize the shipping schedule.

  • Maintain inventory including shelf-life sensitive material and tooling for the program.

  • Coordinates and expedites the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments, according to manufacturing schedules or priorities, and compiles and maintains manual or computerized records.

  • Prepares purchase requests for the purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements.

  • Update Work Orders based on Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate/Technical degree with 1+ year planning experience in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree and minimum 3 years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment. 4 additional years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Must have experience in rescheduling, canceling, opening, and closing manufacturing orders per MRP.

  • Strong computer literacy using an ERP system and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Must have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs., walk or stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification a plus.

  • Experience in Costpoint, Dynafact (DMS), and MES is a plus.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment with competing priorities.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure and very tight timelines.

MANUMS

Salary Range: $56,600 - $85,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
