Landmark Implement Inc Precision Ag Intern in Anywhere, Nebraska

Purpose: Allow students an opportunity to apply classroom concepts and theory to real world scenarios at a full-line John Deere Ag Dealership by completing various tasks and goals assigned to them throughout the summer. Highly focused on the application of Precision Agriculture to the dealership and our customer base.

Program Overview: LandMark Implement has an internship program designed to give potential employees an opportunity to learn the culture of LandMark while providing solutions to our organization and our customers who serve in the agriculture industry. Successful individuals will be invited to apply for a second-year internship where they will get an even further in-depth view of the company. Individuals invited to return for a second year will receive a $1000 scholarship. Scholarships will be a check paid directly to the college upon receipt of upcoming class registration. Interns will be paid per hour with a regulated 40-hour work week.

Intern Selection: Interns will be selected by an application process.

Responsibilities:

  • Gain an overview and general operation practices of AMS products by job shadowing a current Customer Technology Specialist (CTS).

  • Gain an overview and general understanding of the Precision Data Technology Specialist’s position and assist in some projects involving this position.

  • Upon completion the Intern will have the knowledge to install and complete basic set-up to a wide variety of AMS products in various platforms.

  • The intern will be able to train a new operator on the theory and fundamentals of operation, explain the features and benefits of the product, and operate the product in a variety of environments.

  • Set-up, installation and maintenance of AquaSpy Soil Management Systems

  • A variety of other tasks, roles and responsibilities in the department.

    Exposure to Other Dealership Departments: At the direction of the intern, we can give him/her additional exposure to other departments within the dealership to gain a better overall understanding of the business.

Internship Project: An important part of the internship will be completing a project for LandMark. We will find a project that we need help with to improve the organization, find a new process or some other need that we have that hasn’t been filled and needs some attention. We will allow the intern to have full autonomy with this project and will work with other employees or leaders in the organization to put it together and implement the results. At the conclusion of the summer, the intern will be responsible to present to the LandMark Leadership Team. This presentation is intended to summarize the projects worked on and career experiences gained while working at LandMark Implement.

Location: Based out of the Holdrege, NE Support Center with travel to all LandMark Locations, if travel is required these trips will be completed during the course of the business day.

Timeframe: May to August (12 Weeks+)

Qualifications

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • College students in their second year of a two-year degree or students in their sophomore year of a four-year degree

  • Desire to work in Agriculture

  • Ability to speak and write effectively one-on-one and in groups

  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions

  • The ability to be discreet when handling sensitive financial information

  • A willingness to learn

  • Detail-oriented

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the job duties, the employee must regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
