Applied Signal Technology (AST) is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer & Investigator with a strong background in telecommunications architecture and analysi​s with Cybersecurity experience who strives for excellence and has a passion to be part of a team that strengthens our nation and improves the security of our world. This role will support multiple programs. You will work with other experienced members in R&D on system development and deployments for the protection of our country. You need strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently yet collaboratively in a team environment. You will generate briefings and present material to team members, customers, and AST management as necessary. On occasion, position will require travel to customer facility.

Applied Signal Technology: WHO WE ARE (https://www.collinsaerospace.com/what-we-do/industries/military-and-defense/communications/applied-signal-technology)

This is a HYBRID position at our Annapolis Junction, MD location.

This position is eligible for relocation assistance.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

• Minimum of 8+ years of practical experience in telecommunication systems architecture and systems engineering

• Experience working with customers, end users, hardware design teams, and software design teams

• Experience with reverse engineering concepts

• Eperience with Cybersecurity required

• Experience developing system level designs, high level control and data interfaces

• Experience identifying, analyzing and resolving problems in all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

• Experience recognizing areas of improvement and/or customer needs and relaying them to senior staff as business development possibilities

• Experience in scoping broad technical efforts with ability to provide accurate labor estimates

• Security Clearance: Active DoD TS/SCI or higher clearance required

Security Clearance:

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing proof-of-concept (PoC) use case scenarios in support of telecommunications and computer network configurations

• Experience with RF, optical, and/or electrical telecommunications standards and processing techniques

• Experience with Design, Development, Integration and Test of complex Communication systems

• Experience formalizing, developing and documenting requirements, plans, and procedures based on customer discussions, briefings, interactions, and statements of work

• Understanding of telecommunications systems concepts and signal processing fundamentals

• Existing Top Secret with Full Scope Poly (Active within the last 24 months)

The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
