SPLUNK ENGINEER

Tasking:
Come join a team bringing consistency to the projects’ operations support and security posture, allowing analysts to navigate the vast ecosystem of analytic capability to accomplish mission. We provide support across the project and partners with the IC community when tools support users outside agency. Our teams are ultimately responsible for the STE/STN compliance of the supported systems and execute and implement solutions to ensure all supported tools remain compliant with STE/STN requirements as they evolve over time.
Additional Requirements :
The Splunk engineer is expected to use Splunk software in his/her everyday job for searching, monitoring, and analyzing machine-generated data.
Scripting Experience (python etc.); pulling data from tools via RestAPI; min. 7-10 years of experience.
Candidates will be considered for DevOps and Splunk multi-role if they possess the skills.
Its current version is 8.5 running on MASH. Splunk is being used for metrics, diagnosing problems, and pulling data from repositories on our servers from tools such as CASPORT, LATTEART, JIRA, and CONFLUENCE. This data is being assembled into dashboards.

3 search heads
4 indexers
1 master loader
1 load balancer
2 forwarders
The role will include:
administer Splunk clusters
upgrade the tool when required
API data calls
IAVA support
CentOS7 to RHEL8 upgrade
Moving to AWS
pulling logs for servers
creating dashboards and briefing material using Splunk data for COR-T
General Qualifications:
Systems Engineer Level 1 requires a relevant Bachelor’s Degree and 7-14 years of experience.
Systems Engineer Level 2 requires a relevant Bachelor’s Degree and 14-20 years of experience.
Systems Engineer Level 3 requires a relevant Bachelor’s Degree and 20+ years of experience.
Five (5) additional years of relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
