Job Title:Therapist\ \ Work site:Johnson County Office Redbud (JCOR), Alexander County Office (ACO), or Union County Office (UCO). Location is dependent on office space availability.\ \ Area of Focus:Behavioral Health\ \ Program(s):IPS- Intensive Placement Stabilization -IPShelps young people involved with the DCFS system (Department of Child and Family Services) build stability and reduce the number of foster placements and moves through mental health services.\

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • \ Intervenes and evaluates consumers, establishes diagnosis. Develops treatment plan collaboratively with consumers by defining goals, specific outcomes and time frames for treatment.

  • Intervenes therapeutically to change attitudes, beliefs and behaviors of consumers to improve individual and family level of functioning.

  • Provides crisis intervention to stabilize consumers condition by utilizing short term crisis intervention techniques and/or referral to other support services.

  • Completes required monthly direct service hours to consumers as defined on yearly Direct Service Requirement sheet.

  • Enters client information on the IPS Database in a timely manner according to IPS Program Plan.

  • Facilitates recreation/socialization and cultural activities for consumers which provide enjoyable outings that prepare and encourage them to engage in activities independent of the agency.

  • Provides case management and trauma informed therapeutic intervention to high need clients.

  • Works with DCFS caseworkers and makes DCFS reports.

  • Attends CIPP meetings when scheduled (CIPP meetings are meetings between DCFS and foster parents and others working with the client to determine level of care or placement needs/resources).
