Job Description:
Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Location: Commissary Facility
FSLA: Non-Exempt
General Function:
The Industrial maintenance technician responsibilities include: Assisting in maintaining the building, grounds and machinery in a timely and efficient manner.
Working Relationships:
Accountable and Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor. Daily contact with Production Managers and production employees.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Work from a written or verbal list.
Starts, and monitors production machines.
Repairs, modifies and maintains plant equipment.
Conduct electrical and mechanical repairs as assigned
Analyzes significant equipment failures to determine root cause of failures. Identify areas to improve equipment performance and reliability
Use multiple resources to learn how to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance and work on special projects when not repairing equipment.
Working knowledge of PLCs, 3-Phase power up to 480V, contactors, transformers, fuses, switches, motor starters, VFDs, power supplies, servo motors, electric motors, relays and pumps.
Communicate with leadership and coordinator when parts are used or needed to maintain adequate inventory.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Ability to problem solve under time constraints.
Follows established plant Good Manufacturing Practices.
Support outside contractors with repairs/maintenance as needed
Hours worked may vary from regular schedule to cover for other technicians on weekends or to cover vacations.
Education/Experience Required to Perform Job:
High school education or equivalent. Prior maintenance experience preferred. Previous experience with pneumatics, electronics, stainless steel, and hydraulics helpful. Must have a strong electrical aptitude in industrial controls systems include, but not limited to: AC/DC motors, frequency drives, power supplies, relays, servo motors, data communications, etc.
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force repeatedly; exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
Must be able to be on feet (standing and walking) for 6-8 hours a day.
Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:
The duties of this position are performed mostly in the production area which is wet and refrigerated (@38 degrees).
Work around loud equipment.
Frequent deadlines exist while handling multiple tasks.
Daily contact with employees, technicians and salespersons.
Ability to climb, bend, lift and work in areas of limited mobility.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have the ability to use logical or scientific thinking to solve problems and with several abstract and concrete variables. Working knowledge of single/three phase power systems and industrial controls.
Equipment Used to Perform Job:
Pallet jack, forklift and wide array of hand tools both electric and manual.
Contacts:
Has daily contact with employees and suppliers/vendors. Has occasional contact with federal or state regulatory agencies regarding inspections.
Shifts Availability
First Shift - 5:00am to 3:30pm
Second Shift - 3:00pm to 1:00am
Third Shift - 11:00pm to 9:00am
