Food Safety & Quality Specialist

Job Description

The Food Safety & Quality Specialist is responsible for supporting quality assurance activities within the company. This role ensures that finished products are available for distribution on time and supports the Quality Management Systems in place.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure testing results are verified and entered into LIMS to facilitate timely product release.

  • Partner with external laboratories to meet business expectations, including timely result reporting and accurate results.

  • Provide timely resolutions to helpdesk tickets related to quality management.

  • Support businesses and Shared Services with the use of quality management systems such as Document Control, NCM, CAPA, Change Management, and Supplier Assessment.

  • Participate in cross-functional projects as a subject matter expert related to quality management systems.

  • Support the Supplier program as needed.

  • Provide QA/RA metrics support as required.

  • Deliver Certificate of Analyses (COAs) and quality documents to customers as directed by management.

  • Facilitate updates to product formulas, specifications, and production requirements.

  • Assist with special projects assigned to the department.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field.

  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Office Suite, LIMS, and Infor.

  • Experience in a quality support role at a plant or corporate environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

Work Environment

The position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 AM to 4 PM. The work environment is corporate, with responsibilities divided between office duties and occasional tasks in a manufacturing setting, which may involve exposure to noise. Physical requirements include sitting for most of the day, operating a computer, and recording data.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
