Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) is a unique electric generation and distribution cooperative, serving 59 communities across Alaska. Our operation spans 46 small, isolated grids relying on a mix of diesel, wind, and solar generation to power 11,513 meters and maintain 515 miles of distribution line.

To excel as a Warehouse Worker with Alaska Village Electric Cooperative, you'll need a robust skill set that merges logistics expertise with hands-on experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is essential, along with proven warehouse knowledge, particularly in order fulfillment. Experience operating a 1-2-ton truck is crucial, as is proficiency in proper loading, tie-down, and unloading techniques. Additionally, candidates should have DOT Hazardous Material Shipping training (49 CFR) and at least two years of forklift experience, as these are vital for maintaining safety and efficiency.

A deep understanding of the unique logistics involved in shipping materials throughout rural Alaska will set you apart. The ability to thrive in high-pressure situations, coupled with a dedication to delivering results, will equip you for success in this fast-paced environment, where every day presents new challenges and rewards.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Warehouse expertise - order fulfillment and experience operating a 1-2-ton truck including proper loading, tie down and unloading techniques
  • DOT Hazardous Material Shipping training (49 CFR)
  • At least two years of forklift experience
  • A deep understanding of the logistics of shipping material preferably around Alaska.
  • The ability to thrive under high pressure.
