RESPEC Senior Project Manager in Anchorage, Alaska

RESPEC is seeking a full-time, senior-level Project Manager for Aviation Planning to join our full-service infrastructure team! We plan and design world-class projects utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and out-of-the-box approaches. This position will manage aviation planning projects and assist with business development, supporting new project growth in Alaska and across the United States and its territories.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the client-facing project manager on aviation planning and engineering projects.
  • Develop and manage high-value project scopes and budgets.
  • Actively participate in developing aviation business opportunities throughout the United States.
  • Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary aviation planning and design teams.
  • Ensure a high quality of project deliverables on time and within budget, including:
    • Aviation planning studies and reports
    • Public outreach processes and meetings
    • Airport inspection processes
    • Newsletters, fact sheets and white papers
    • Airport Master Plans
    • Aviation System Plans
    • Airport Relocation Studies
    • Stakeholder Outreach
  • Travel as needed throughout Alaska and the United States, varying according to season and workload.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Independent leader who is also an enthusiastic team player.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex aviation planning projects.
  • Excellent research and analysis skills and ability to write for technical and lay audiences.
  • Comfortable leading public meetings and communicating with agency officials.
  • Comfortable using hybrid and remote work tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, within timelines and budgets.
  • Detail oriented, accountable, and well-organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable flying on small airplanes to remote areas across Alaska and the United States.
  • Extensive experience with AIP grant-funded projects, grant writing and reporting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of web design.
  • Familiar with current airport technologies.
  • Experience with business development and proposal writing.
  • Experience mentoring aviation planning staff.
  • Familiarity with Advanced Air Mobility, Airport Safety, Security, and Certification Requirements, and FAA Airport Land Use Compliance.
