Day to Day

As a Senior Trust and Safety Operational Support Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our platform by investigating and resolving issues related to policy violations, fraudulent activities, and other problem areas. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations to ensure our policies are effectively applied to accounts and content. This includes conducting investigations and making judgments on complex or edge cases. Effective communication with other functional teams is a key part of this process. You will need to have a thorough knowledge of Trust and Safety guidelines and best practices, establishing our team as a support resource while functioning in an advisory capacity. You are encouraged to propose ideas to improve user experiences based on insights gained from daily operations. In this role, you will support training initiatives, conduct quality audits, and manage process documentation. Your ability to manage quality standards and communication flows will be essential to your success.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve a high volume of fraud and policy enforcement cases, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.

  • Interpret and apply Trust & Safety policies to content, making informed decisions on escalations, edge cases, and precedent-setting scenarios.

  • Act as a thought leader, identifying inefficiencies, influencing process improvements, and engaging with business partners to enhance workflows.

  • Mentor and support teammates through training, shadowing, and documentation updates to drive operational excellence.

  • Conduct quality management initiatives, ensuring adherence to operational standards, policy accuracy, and consistency across decisions.

  • Analyze and communicate key trends, platform abuse patterns, and operational risks to cross-functional partners, influencing mitigation strategies.

  • Proactively set, track, and achieve personal and team goals, demonstrating ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Skills/Competencies

  • 3-5 years of experience in customer support, content moderation, or Trust & Safety at a consumer-facing web company.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and resolve escalations independently, leveraging data and policy frameworks.

  • Proven ability to identify trends, risks, and inefficiencies, translating insights into actionable process and policy improvements.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging cross-functional teams to drive alignment and resolution.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), or similar workflow and documentation platforms.

  • Self-starter mindset, proactively identifying and addressing workflow gaps, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives with minimal oversight.

  • Ability to many multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, demonstrating adaptability in response to evolving policies and business needs.

Austin, Metro Area 59,000 - 86,000 USD per year

New York City, Metro Area 79,000 - 115,000 USD per year

Seattle, Metro Area 73,000 - 107,000 USD per year

San Francisco, Bay Area 87,000 - 127,000 USD per year

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
