Our Client, a leader in the entertainment industry, is looking for an experienced Fire Protection Engineer. Key qualifications: Minimum 5-7+ years of experience, PE License and AutoCAD knowledge. A Bachelors degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related filed is required.

responsibilities:

The fire protection engineer within the Design and Engineering organization at the Disneyland Resort plays a crucial role by providing expertise in various areas related to fire protection and life safety. This includes understanding fire protection systems, building and fire codes, risk assessment, fire and smoke spread, industrial fire hazards, and fire investigation support.

Their primary responsibilities involve offering fire protection engineering support for all areas of the Resort, including capital projects and facility maintenance. This encompasses a diverse range of facility types such as public assembly, retail, high-rise hotels, offices, residential areas, commercial kitchens, industrial spaces, and special amusement buildings.

The engineer is accountable for various fire protection systems, including fire detection and alarm, sprinkler systems, smoke control, means of egress, and emergency crowd movement. Additionally, they must possess knowledge in areas such as hazardous materials handling, gas alarm systems, elevator safety, and OSHA regulations.

Specific job tasks include field engineering support, inspections, code analysis, system design, plans review, hazard assessment, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and general consulting on fire and life safety issues. They are also responsible for creating system designs, reviewing designs by project teams, recommending improvements, and collaborating with various Resort departments and project managers.

Furthermore, the engineer may need to seal drawings and submittals as required by their professional engineering license. Overall, the role is critical in ensuring the safety and compliance of fire protection systems across the Resort.
