Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of our organization in Amherst, New York. This role involves overseeing the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with established policies. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to driving efficiency across all areas of financial management.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the accounting department, providing leadership and guidance to staff members.
• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and present detailed financial reports to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Monitor budget processes and provide recommendations for optimization.
• Conduct audits to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and company policies.
• Utilize accounting software systems to streamline operations and reporting.
• Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with organizational objectives.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
• Ensure audit compliance and address any findings effectively. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting and financial management roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and tools.
• Strong knowledge of auditing practices and regulatory compliance.
• Expertise in managing month-end close processes.
• Solid understanding of budgeting and financial planning.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
