Robert Half is looking for an ambitious, eager Controller to join the team at an well-respected services company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. What you get to do every single day
Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Perform all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Requirements - Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
High attention to detail
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks
Command of CPA
Proficiency in MBA
Foundational knowledge in Annual Tax
Payroll tax experience
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
