Description
Jenny Bour with Robert Half is working with a growing company that is looking to grow its team by hiring an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk! You will be responsible for entering, posting, and reconciling batches, researching and resolving customer A/R issues, preparing aging report, placing billing and collection calls, maintaining a cash receipting journal, and updating, and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L. The team is rapidly growing and needs a self-starter to join the accounting team! The Accounts Receivable Clerk role will be based in the Amherst, New York region, offers a hybrid work schedule for employees that are able to commute to Amherst, and is a permanent employment opportunity.
How you will make an impact
Process payments and compiling segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
Provide information as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stake holders
Perform a variety of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
Reconcile bank accounts, recording and balancing financial information in a variety of ledgers
Communicate with clients to settle payment issues and help create a payment plan
Verify documents and codes
Support, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization
Requirements
2+ years of experience working in Accounts Receivable
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field is a plus
Experience working in Sage accounting is a plus
