Job Summary
TheInternational Security Assistantprovides health, safety and security support for the University's travelers abroad. Under the supervision of the Director of International Health, Safety, and Security, the International Security Assistant will be assigned a variety of tasks pertaining to international safety and security initiatives.
Essential Functions
Performs research and analysis to supplement ongoing intelligence and research initiatives
Provides data entry, maintenance, and administrative support for university travel registry, incident database, and other university systems
Provides administrative support for the High-Risk Travel Review process for graduate students, faculty, and staff
Monitors global events and produces analytical reports as needed
Assists in maintaining and updating university’s list of high-risk destinations, IPO’s website and related communications materials
Plans pre-departure orientations, security briefings and consultations for university travelers
Other Functions
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
Bachelor's Degree
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, and collaboration tools like SharePoint and OneDrive
Strong written and oral communication skills, and organizational skills, with attention to detail
Ability to work with a high degree of discretion and professionalism with sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated interest in International Affairs or Security, Global Affairs, Criminal Justice, Political Science, or a related field
Ability to perform research and synthesize vast quantities of information
Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrated initiative as an individual contributor
Experience living, studying or working outside the United States
Work Schedule
Hours may vary; up to 37.5 hours/week.
Schedule varies depending on the needs of the department.
This is a temporary, unbenefited position
Salary Information
$25 per hour
