Job Title: Wiring Technician

Job Description

The Wiring Technician will interpret electrical schematics to assemble and wire electrical power systems, including switchgears and panels. This role involves repetitive tasks within a production facility, utilizing various hand tools to perform sub-pan and system assemblies. Candidates will learn to wire panels based on schematics and repeat these procedures to meet production volumes.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and follow electrical schematics to assemble and wire electrical power systems.

  • Use hand tools and power drills to perform sub-panel layouts, drilling, and tapping holes with minimal supervision.

  • Wire sub-pans, door devices, and other power equipment according to ISO standards and drawings.

  • Perform mechanical assembly on switchgear/switchboard under supervision.

  • Mount all pertinent equipment and wire bundles neatly, using wire loom or free-bundling techniques.

  • Wire simple relay circuits and perform daisy chaining with most common wires, with minimal supervision.

  • Understand and differentiate between A/C and D/C voltages.

  • Crimp wires and use hardware such as screws, bolts, nuts, and washers according to ISO Procedures Manual.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Lead person, Supervisor, or Manager.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in electrical assembly and panel wiring.

  • Proficiency with hand tools, power drills, and tape measurers.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in crimping wires and performing point-to-point wiring.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical assembly from companies like Siemens or Raytheon.

  • Candidates with military backgrounds or HVAC experience are preferred.

  • Ability to perform sub-panel layouts, drill and tap holes, and wire using wire way and loom.

Work Environment

The work environment is climate-controlled in an extremely nice facility. Contractors will work at a bench wiring panels and switchgears, wearing comfortable clothing. All necessary tools are provided, and each workspace offers plenty of space. The shift is a 4-day work week from Monday to Thursday, 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with mandatory overtime available on Fridays from 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Reliable transportation and a reasonable commute are important.

This is a Contract position based out of ALPHARETTA, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
