Aloha, OR 97007

Contract through 12/2020

This is a database administrator position supporting development teams primarily utilizing the Microsoft SQL Server platform. The teams are building enterprise decision support solutions and looking for someone with the skills and passion to partner with in order to deliver high performance applications.


  • Participates in planning efforts with Agile teams and IT groups.

  • Capacity planning of database environments.

  • Analyzes current system and develops recommendations to improve systems availability, reliability and performance.

  • Recommends processes and practices for development teams, as well as providing development guidance and support.

  • Provides guidance for the continuous improvement and monitoring of database environments.

  • Assist on critical production issues, identify root cause and provide mitigation plan.

  • Perform database administrative tasks such as maintaining databases, setting up security.

Skills Required:

  • Masters Degree preferred but minimum of Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent education experience.

  • 10+ years of experience as Microsoft SQL DBA.

  • Experience on database High Availability and Disaster Recovery configurations, in-memory OLTP.

  • Perform routine database administration work e.g. database installation, configuration, patching, monitor database health, performance tuning, backup/restore etc.

  • Programming experience in Powershell for automation of routine database activities.

  • Working knowledge in other relational database and NoSQL database platforms.

  • Working knowledge of various APM tools (Elastic APM, New Relic, etc.).

  • Experience using agile methodologies, TFS/SVN/GIT and technical practices such as Continuous Integration.

  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
