Reference #: 5001067496106 Utz Quality Foods is seeking an SVP, Small Format to join our sales team. The Senior Vice President of Small Format Sales is responsible for developing and implementing the sales strategy for small-format retail operations across the company. This leader will drive revenue growth, enhance market share, and ensure the profitability of the small-format segment including convenience, drug, value, foodservice, vending and military. The role demands a strategic visionary with strong leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of retail dynamics and the ability to manage a large and diverse sales team. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. Candidates must also have 15+ years of experience in retail sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing small-format or similar retail operations within a food/beverage organization. Candidates should have a proven track record of driving sales growth and improving profitability in a retail environment and strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. Experience in leading and developing large teams, as well as a deep understanding of the retail landscape, including route-to-market, trends, challenges, and competitive dynamics are essential in this position.

SVP, Small Format: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for small-format stores, aligning with overall company objectives. Clear understanding of both broker and direct to customer sales engagement. Experience with various route-to-market approaches including DSD, DTW, Distributor and Wholesaler. Identify growth opportunities in the small-format sector and create plans to capitalize on them. Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment of sales strategies with broader business goals. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team. Set performance goals and provide regular feedback to ensure team alignment with company objectives. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the sales team. Conduct market research and analysis to understand customer needs, preferences, and trends in small-format retail. Use insights to drive product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies. Monitor competitive activities and adjust strategies accordingly. Establish sales targets and ensure they are met or exceeded. Analyze sales data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Implement best practices and process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team. Work closely with marketing, operations, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies. Manage the sales budget for small-format operations, ensuring optimal allocation of resources. Provide regular reports on sales performance, forecasting, and financial results to senior leadership. Drive profitability through effective pricing, cost management, and margin enhancement strategies.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field 15+ years of experience in retail sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing small-format or similar retail operations within a food/beverage organization. Proven track record of driving sales growth and improving profitability in a retail environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Experience in leading and developing large teams. Deep understanding of the retail landscape, including route-to-market, trends, challenges, and competitive dynamics. Ability to develop and implement long-term sales strategies that align with the company's goals. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and m ntor a diverse sales team. Proven experience in building and developing high-performing teams with the ability to delegate effectively while maintaining accountability. Skilled in leading and managing change within an organization, particularly in a fast-paced retail environment. Ability to assess and analyze market dynamics and performance across brands utilizing syndicated data and internal data sources. Adapt strategies and approaches to evolving market conditions. Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with other departments such as marketing, operations, and supply chain. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Ability to present complex information in a clear and compelling manner.
