Ford Motor Company Sr. Vehicle EMC Engineer in Allen Park, Michigan

The Sr. Vehicle EMC Engineer will work closely with Ford Motor Company’s EMC testing team and EMC experts to make sure the vehicle complies to EMI and EMC requirements. You will be the single point of contact that bridges between vehicle development team and the EMC testing team. You will initiate and lead vehicle level EMC testing from early development stages all the way to production. You will collaborate with the EMC testing team to gather required vehicle level requirements and communicate those to the vehicle team. You will make sure the vehicle development team and the EMC testing team are fully aligned on the program timing, expected deliverables, and goals of EMC testing at each stage of the vehicle development. You will deep dive into the EMC test reports and work with the EMC experts to root cause EMC related issues and come up with potential solutions to address those.
Responsible for coordination of vehicle level EMC testing
Work with Ford Motor Company’s EMC team to develop vehicle level EMC testing requirement and communicate those to the vehicle team
Act as a bridge between vehicle development team and EMC testing team to enable smooth execution of EMC testing
Evaluate vehicle features and functions, relevant to EMC testing, at different stages of vehicle development and clearly communicate those to EMC testing team
Single point of contact for the vehicle team to coordinate required vehicle level EMC testing with EMC test laboratory
Stay current with the latest vehicle developments as well as Ford Motor Company’s EMC testing requirements and communicate those properly to respective teams in a timely manner
Ensure successful execution of vehicle level EMC testing and EMC compliance
Work with Ford Motor Company’s EMC experts to root cause vehicle level EMC issues and propose potential solutions
Dive deep into Ford Motor company’s vehicle level EMC testing standard and evaluate those against vehicle maturity for proper execution at different stages of the program
Stay up to date with the latest program timing and make sure vehicle level EMC testing schedule is aligned with that
You'll have...
B.S in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
8+ years of experience in vehicle level and/or component level EMC testing
Strong knowledge of EMC testing requirements and relevant standards
Deep technical knowledge on Electric Vehicle’s high voltage and low voltage system architecture
Strong written and verbal communication skills
An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
Even better, you may have...
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields
10+ years of combined component level and vehicle level EMC testing experience
Deep technical knowledge of vehicle EMC issues and potential solutions to enable safe launch
Prior experience with EMC testing of EVs is a big plus
