Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Nurse to join their team in Alice Springs NT.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The role of the Nurse is to work as part of the primary health care team, providing personal Medical Services to the employees and eligible dependents. You will assist the medical personnel in the care of practice patients to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities/Duties
To ensure the provision of quality nursing care through efficient and effective, safe and timely services exercising a significant level of initiative in the direct coordination, implementation and evaluation of care with appropriate outcomes
To provide nursing care to patients, including treatment, screening, advice and minor therapeutic procedures within the scope of the practitioner.
To run special clinics for patients including children’s health, vaccinations, diabetes education, quit counselling, wound management, health promotion. pathology collection.
To undertake diagnostic testing including pathology and blood glucose monitoring, respiratory function tests, ECG’s, urine analysis, audiology testing and others.
To manage databases and initiate 5-year rotational physical examinations.
To provide immunizations to adults and children according to the National Immunization Program. Occupational health and travel vaccination advice/education
To ensure the medical clinics are well stocked, clean and functional maintaining a high standard of infection control measures as per the RACGP Accreditation guidelines.
To provide telephone advice to patients including results and general medical advice.
To ensure the health and safety of staff and visitors to the medical clinics.
Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements.
Any other reasonable duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
Minimum Essential
- Bachelor of Nursing OR Formal Nursing Qualification
Licensing with AHPRA
Desirable
- Post-graduate qualification in; Acute or Emergency Care, Primary Health care, Practice nursing, Remote area nursing

Basic Life Support/First Aid
Working with Children Ochre Card NT
Desirable
Advanced Life Support
Accredited Vaccine Provider Course
Advanced First Aid
Quit counselling provider course
Remote Emergency Care Course (REC)
MIMMS Course
Drug and Alcohol Testing certificate
Audiometry provider certificate
EXPERIENCE – Minimum Essential
• 2+ years working as a Registered/Enrolled Nurse
COMPETENCIES
Technical competencies
Demonstrate knowledge of Australian medical and nursing guidelines and standards
Use of medical equipment and devices; ECG machines, sphygmomanometers, Urine Analysis machines
Experience in the use of electronic medical records systems and record keeping in accordance with medical confidentiality requirements.
Basic knowledge of computer applications e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry
Behavioral competencies
High-level of communication; written and verbal, teamwork and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a motivated group Health Professionals.
WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS
E.g. Ability to lift up to 10kg independently.
Ability to carry emergency medical packs.
Unload and load medical equipment into vehicle.
Ability to transfer immobilized patients utilizing medical devices, e.g., Stretcher/ Wheelchair
