Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Alexandria, Virginia

Description

Real estate firm hiring a Full-Charge Bookkeeper in Alexandria, VA! My client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage all aspects of financial bookkeeping and reporting for the organization. In this position, you will oversee payroll, accounts payable and receivable, bank account reconciliations, and day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Opportunity to work a hybrid work schedule: 2 days in office and 3 days work-from-home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full cycle of accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly bank reconciliations

  • Process payroll and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll requirements

  • Maintain the general ledger, recording transactions accurately and ensuring proper documentation is in place

  • Supervise invoicing and collections to ensure timely payments from clients and vendors

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement new accounting policies as needed

  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Create and maintain accurate and confidential financial records in accordance with company and regulatory standards

    Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (required)

  • 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles

  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with vendors, customers, and internal teams

  • Familiarity with payroll processing and compliance is a plus

Salary range: $75,000-90,000
